Housing could work simillarly, with a 2% discount @ level two, dropped .1% gain per level until it only gives .5% per level
level......-..2.....3.........4.......5.....6.......7.........8.......9...
discount - 2%, 3.9%, 5.7%, 7.4%, 8%, 9.5%, 10.9%, 12.2%,
So for example, lvl 9 career level would give 12.2% discount, on a 10 mil house, that is a 1.22 mil discount. Big money.
You'd also have to be able to sell it for less (which wouldn't really make sense) or else people could literally get infinite amounts of cash.
I personally like Ronin's idea for item discounts: http://forums.awakenedlands.com/showthre...#pid159957

infinite cash??? how??
most items resell for 50% or less of their purchasing value. therefore, you would LOSE LESS, but gain none..

I think he was talking about the discount on house's not items.

Thanks, Macc! This is precisely what I was talking about, poptart's just a little slow sometimes

a house is not an item. it is not in your inventory. end of story. good game, thx

huh? i'd have to disagree with this. it can be bought and sold, even rented...therefore i consider it an item.

I presumed people to be assuming that.

I totally agree! Unfortunately, this is one of those circumstances in which actually reading the quoted item would help, Poptart. For convenience's sake, I'll re-quote:

Now, Poptart, will you please read aloud the first word in the quote?

Wasn't trying to bash your idea; I actually quite like it. Unfortunately, I see an exploit in it, and was trying to provide an easy fix.

my fix was that housing doesnt count as an item, and therefore the bonus is fine and wont ruin anything. end of story, thx
